Gep International

About Us

Gep International is owned and operated by Grant Phillips, a New Zealander who came to Britain in the early 1990s to ride the then-booming city centre criteriums as a professional. This followed a successful career in his native Dunedin, where he raced extensively with his brither Aaron, under the careful guidance of his father, also a successful rider in his prime.

Gep International came about because after the collapse of the city centre criterium series, Grant returned to his trade in the textile industry, and saw an opening for short-run manufacture of small clothing items with customised print. Making things like aero oversocks lead him towrds bigger clothing items, at first plain jerseys, then custom prints, and also towards the components side of the industry. Stand space taken at events all over the country gave a good indication of the demands of real cyclists, and the business flourished.

The last few years have been very difficult ones in the cycle industry generally, but Gep International has continued trading, albeit at a reduced level up to now. This web site is one part of a strategy to re-establish the business back where it should be - at the grass roots of the sport, supplying the riders with the goods that they want, when they want them.

Gep International is a sponsor of teamSynergy, the Buckinghamshire-based team that in 2000 has been instrumental in bringing two up-and-coming New Zealand riders to the UK to further their already impressive careers.
